I was kidding about all that stuff I mentioned before on my Christmas list.
This is really what I want.
Only $18,000. Now that's a real bargain.

Well, another Thanksgiving has come and gone I must say that through the whole thing I was most thankful to be home and settled and feeling content again. We had a very nice and uneventful one, visiting with family and eating too much great food. I wouldn't have had this past weekend any other way.
But now it's time to start thinking about Christmas. For those of you who don't know, Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. Some people who know me may think this is because I like getting gifts (which believe me, I do) but the real reason is that I just love everything about Christmas. I love to buy and give gifts to my friends and family. I love the family gatherings. I love cold weather. I love the way that music seems to sound different and somehow better when the weather gets cold. I love sitting outside with a steaming hot cup of coffee in the cold. I love Christmas music. I love spending Christmas with Lindsey. I love decorating our tree and this year for the first time, our house. I love setting up my Christmas village. I love those old clay-mation Christmas specials that ran when I was a kid, and I love a Charlie Brown Christmas. There isn't much about Christmas I don't like. It's a really great time of year...actually...it's the most wonderful time of the year.
But of course, I'm like anyone else. I love getting presents. Here are my Christmas lists for 2006 in all their glory. I keep these things strictly updated all year long so they are current and accurate.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to every one of you. I hope to see all of you this holiday season. I miss all of my friends and family who I don't see often enough. I hope you all have a safe holiday season, and let's hope that the new year starts well.
So today is the day that everyone has been waiting for. Microsoft's Zune launches today. You guys can sort it out in the comments regarding who should rush out and buy mine today. Once you get it all sorted, here is a convenient link to buy the one I want (the brown one).
Zune 30 GB Digital Media Player (Brown)
So Microsoft finally announced their contender in the MP3 player market, with the hope of challenging Apple's market-dominating iPod. I've been following the progress of this thing from the concept stage. If you haven't already dear readers, meet the Zune:
The Zune has not hit the market yet, but Microsoft plans for it to be available this holiday season, which means they need to get on the ball. I for one would love to be an early adopter for the Zune. I think there are some really interesting features available for it such as wi-fi, file sharing (this includes pictures and music), customizable wallpaper, and a number of others. The downside is, as with many tech products, especially those made by Microsoft, the first gen model will probably have some bugs to be worked out, while Apple has smoothed most kinks in the now 6th gen iPods. I'd be willing to bet that the second and third gen Zunes (if they do well enough to last that long) will be really top notch. Plus, by that time the Zune Marketplace (Microsoft's answer to iTunes...which also sounds cool) will have grown quite a bit I imagine.
If you want to know more about the Zune, I've done a lot of the work for you. Below you find a chart with spec comparisons (Courtesy of ZuneInfo.com) and a host of links to sites with info.

Those three are Microsoft employees who have inside info on Zune. They are blogging about the development of Zune with Microsoft's knowledge, so they aren't really spilling the beans on anything they aren't' allowed to, but they all have pretty good info about the Zune. The rest of the links are tech review or music sites.
