I really am running out of things to say here. This was a beautiful old theater near my house in the Garden District. It's been closed for years, so I have no idea what was inside, but you should have seen it from the street. It was a really pretty theater.

Fire rips through historic Coliseum theatre

A three-alarm fire tore through the historic Coliseum theatre in New Orleans Friday afternoon.

There didn’t appear to be any injuries but dozens of firefighters fought the fire from the ground and through the air.


The alarm sounded shortly after 3 p.m. at the classic building that closed in the early 70s and has recently been used as a production studio.


In addition to the fire trucks, two helicopters ferried water back and forth from the Mississippi River, dropping it atop the fire.


The full extent of the damage is not known at this time.
