Legal Precedent

Back in April when we moved into our new house I wrote this post about using my neighbors' wireless network for internet access while I waited for my own internet service to be hooked up.

Well, I didn't get caught or even get in trouble but I won't be doing it again because the issue appears to be getting some legal attention.

A man in Florida has been arrested for doing just that. He was squatting on someone else's network, got caught and now faces charges for it. The article doesn't say whether he was using the network with malicious intent or not, so I'm not sure how much that factors into the equation, but the moral of the story is don't do it.
