A Multitude of Weird People
One of the most interesting things about blogs is also the thing that makes it most appealing: ANYONE can start up a blog and write whatever he/she feels, for the whole world to read.
I love blogs for this reason because it's free and easy. My HTML knowledge would never have allowed me to start up my own page, and I would not have felt justified paying for something that would have been really....well....useless and pointless.
I also find blogs scary for this same reason. Dan Tobin and I have discussed this aspect of blogging. In his Navbar Adventures, Dan comes across some sites that are just plain strange. People who probably should not be posting their feelings for all of the world to see, can do just that.
A while back, I stumbled upon a blog titled simply, To: God. When I first read the page, there were only a few posts, but now the author has begun posting again after a prolonged absence.
In this blog, the author is relating his prayers to God through his blog. This is actually a pretty interesting idea, but is pretty scary at the same time. What is particularly scary are the things that he is praying about. Check it out and you'll see what I mean.
I almost want to think that it's a joke, but nothing on the site indicates that that's the case. I'm pretty sure it's just 100% honesty.
Despite it's honest nature, I still find the site truly creepy.
